Character profile — Devin Del Valle (Power Rangers: Dino Thunder)

Devin is a student at Reefside High, classmate to Dino Rangers Conner, Kira, Ethan, and Trent, as well as a student of the 5th ranger, Tommy Oliver. He is best friends with Cassidy Cornell, Reporter and Anchor for the school's TV news show. Devin is Cassidy's camera man and willing slave, doing pretty much whatever she orders him to do and putting up with her insults and annoyance.

Whereas Cassidy is loud and obnoxious, Devin is reserved and polite, making him much more likable. While he doesn't hang out with the rangers per say, they do seem to be on friendly terms. Generally, when Devin is in danger, that's because Cassidy wanted him to get a closer shot of the rangers, so she could find out their identity. Either that or she has cooked up some hair-brained scheme for him to go along with.

As Devin can be both a bit clumsy and absent-minded, he almost never gets footage of the rangers or their real identities, and when he does manage to film something about them, the tapes tend to be destroyed by accident. He does often manage to achieve Cassidy's goals through his much more likable personality, things like guest starring on a Baywatch-like TV show and earning an internship at a local television station.

But their friendship remains true, and the rare occasions when Cassidy shows kindness, sympathy, and decency are always directed at Devin. It may be that they have secret romantic feelings for each other, only time will tell.

Devin continues on as half a comedy duo, the straight man to Cassidy's crazyness and lack of common sense. Who knows. Maybe one day, he's got footage of the rangers that is seen by others! Only time will tell.
