Tom Hern
21 year old Tom Hern was born and bred in Christchurch. Tom commenced acting at primary school and his first part was as a talking tree in the school play. He landed his break-through role as a presenter on What Now in 1998. After a few years on the show he realised he was having more fun doing skits than stories and was enjoying acting more than presenting.
He decided to get an acting agent and moved north to Wellington. It was here where he won a core cast part as Ram in The Tribe. He played the part of Ram for three years before moving further north to Auckland to play the part of Dino Thunder in Power Rangers.
Tom went on to roles in Revelations, Interrogation and Maddigan's Quest and in 2005 he joined Shortland Street to play likeable Christian Baxter Cormack.
Tom spends a lot of his down time on the sunny west coast beach of Piha. Currently working on a rap/hip-hop album with his friend under the name Theodore High, Tom also plays guitar and sings the blues.
He considers himself a one-eyed Cantabrian and is an avid follower of the Crusaders Super 14 team who loves nothing more than enjoying a good old fashioned BBQ cook up.
